Alicia argued that her stories did not need an archive of their own. But I am stubborn, and her stories are very special to me.
How can I explain the impact and power of Alicia's writing? I guess the best way is through my own experience. I remember as a lurking newbie, stumbling across Alicia's original Dayspring Archive. I started to read. Hours later, slightly stiff, and with a crick in my neck, I finished the last of her stories. (Yes, this was waay back, when one could still read all of her stories in one sitting). :)
I was awed. I was hooked. Those stories touched a chord in me. Alicia's writing had drawn me in and enveloped me in the worlds she created. I found I never wanted to leave them. Nervously, I stepped out of lurkerdom, and wrote my first feedback, which led to an ongoing correspondence, my starting an archive, and ultimately to the site you see today.
Alicia is undoubtedly one of the best known and most beloved fanfic writers in this community. This is due not only to her great talent, but also to her great heart. She has contributed so much to the world of comics fan-fiction, unselfishly giving her time and encouragement to countless authors, both old and new.
And then there are the stories... Just as Alicia credits DuAnn as her inspiration, countless other authors, like myself count her as theirs. Her stories are rich in depth and style. She brings the characters she writes (Cable, in particular) to life. The worlds she has created (like the Shadowlands) have inspired other writers in new and exciting ways.
Alicia is many things to this community. Writer. CableGoddess. Beta-reader. Inspiration. Friend. To me she is all that and more. This is her archive. I have no doubt that you will find many hours of enjoyment here. I know I certainly have. ~JenMorrioghan
